“… The Shift in Human Nature

You're starting to see integrity change. Awareness recalibrates integrity, and the Human Being who would sit there and take advantage of another Human Being in an old energy would never do it in a new energy. The reason? It will become intuitive, so this is a shift in Human Nature as well, for in the past you have assumed that people take advantage of people first and integrity comes later. That's just ordinary Human nature.

In the past, Human nature expressed within governments worked like this: If you were stronger than the other one, you simply conquered them. If you were strong, it was an invitation to conquer. If you were weak, it was an invitation to be conquered. No one even thought about it. It was the way of things. The bigger you could have your armies, the better they would do when you sent them out to conquer. That's not how you think today. Did you notice?

Any country that thinks this way today will not survive, for humanity has discovered that the world goes far better by putting things together instead of tearing them apart. The new energy puts the weak and strong together in ways that make sense and that have integrity. Take a look at what happened to some of the businesses in this great land (USA). Up to 30 years ago, when you started realizing some of them didn't have integrity, you eliminated them. What happened to the tobacco companies when you realized they were knowingly addicting your children? Today, they still sell their products to less-aware countries, but that will also change.

What did you do a few years ago when you realized that your bankers were actually selling you homes that they knew you couldn't pay for later? They were walking away, smiling greedily, not thinking about the heartbreak that was to follow when a life's dream would be lost. Dear American, you are in a recession. However, this is like when you prune a tree and cut back the branches. When the tree grows back, you've got control and the branches will grow bigger and stronger than they were before, without the greed factor. Then, if you don't like the way it grows back, you'll prune it again! I tell you this because awareness is now in control of big money. It's right before your eyes, what you're doing. But fear often rules. …”

Dutch baseball team makes history

The Dutch baseball team is making history during this year's World Cup tournament in Panama. A victory over baseball powerhouse Cuba on Thursday has ensured the Dutch team a place in the finals, the first time ever for a European team.

Dutch pitcher Leon Boyd stares at catcher Shawn Zarraga. The catcher gives him the sign, telling him where he should throw the pitch. Boyd winds up, throws the ball... "Strike three!" yells the umpire, and one of Cuba’s best hitters, Alexei Bell, is out. The Dutch baseball team has just made history.

With victory over Cuba, the Dutch team has won a place in the finals at this year’s World Cup baseball tournament in Panama. It is the first time in the 73-year history of the tournament that a European team has made the finals. And it will be the first time the Dutch team will win a medal at the World Cup (even if they lose in the finals, they would still get the silver medal).

Not out of the blue

For those who follow baseball, the Dutch success is no surprise. The Dutch have won the European Cup 20 times, and been second 8 times. Dozens of Dutch players have been playing in the US Major Leagues, the highest level of baseball in the world, for years.

The most successful Dutch baseball players come from the Caribbean islands that remain part of the Dutch kingdom, where baseball is the most popular sport. One such player (who does not play with the national team) is Andruw Jones, who now plays for the New York Yankees. He led the National League in home runs in 2005 while playing with the Atlanta Braves. For years, he has had the highest salary of any Dutch sportsman.

But baseball in the Netherlands remains a minor sport. Only eight teams take part in the main league, and about 20,000 people play the sport at all levels nationally.

Theo Plasschaert covers baseball for the Dutch public broadcaster NOS. He calls the run the team is having at this year’s World Cup “miraculous”.

“For such a minor sport, in a small country, with limited means, it’s really amazing to see what they are achieving. Dutch baseball is very efficient.”

Team chemistry

Thursday’s victory over Cuba had many heroes. Pitcher Leon Boyd closed out the game from the mound, but only after starting pitcher Orland Yntema had limited the most feared offense in world baseball to just one run. And designated hitter Bryan Engelhart stepped up once again, hitting two home runs to light up the Dutch offense.

But while baseball depends on individual performances, it remains a team sport. Something has clicked among the 23 Dutch players and they are excelling as a team.

One only needs to check the error column in the box scores – this Dutch team has now gone four games in a row without making any unforced errors. And already during this tournament they have beaten the only three teams to have won the World Cup since 1965: the United States and South Korea, and Cuba.

Experience on the bench

Watching Thursday’s game against Cuba from the dugout was pitcher Rob Cordemans. The oldest pitcher on the team, 38-year-old Cordemans has kept his form.

But Cordemans nearly didn’t make it to Panama. During a club game in July, the star pitcher caught a line-drive with his bare hand, the hand he throws with. He injured two fingers, and had to sit out a few weeks.

He made it back in time to pitch in his sixth World Cup tournament. During the 1998 World Cup, Cordemans held the United States team to just one run as he pitched a complete game and his team won. He was part of the Dutch teams which made it to the semi-finals at two World Cups. And he has pitched in four Olympics. But, like the Dutch team, he is now heading for his first World Cup medal.

Yes, they can

Coach Brian Farley was proud of his players after the win against Cuba.

“They aren’t scared of anyone, and they believe in themselves. That gives you a big advantage.”

But he wasn't ready to celebrate yet. The final is Saturday evening. The Netherlands could face Cuba again in the finals. Farley: “Just hope we can do it again.”

Whatever happens in the finals, this team has already made history.
