“… The Shift in Human Nature

You're starting to see integrity change. Awareness recalibrates integrity, and the Human Being who would sit there and take advantage of another Human Being in an old energy would never do it in a new energy. The reason? It will become intuitive, so this is a shift in Human Nature as well, for in the past you have assumed that people take advantage of people first and integrity comes later. That's just ordinary Human nature.

In the past, Human nature expressed within governments worked like this: If you were stronger than the other one, you simply conquered them. If you were strong, it was an invitation to conquer. If you were weak, it was an invitation to be conquered. No one even thought about it. It was the way of things. The bigger you could have your armies, the better they would do when you sent them out to conquer. That's not how you think today. Did you notice?

Any country that thinks this way today will not survive, for humanity has discovered that the world goes far better by putting things together instead of tearing them apart. The new energy puts the weak and strong together in ways that make sense and that have integrity. Take a look at what happened to some of the businesses in this great land (USA). Up to 30 years ago, when you started realizing some of them didn't have integrity, you eliminated them. What happened to the tobacco companies when you realized they were knowingly addicting your children? Today, they still sell their products to less-aware countries, but that will also change.

What did you do a few years ago when you realized that your bankers were actually selling you homes that they knew you couldn't pay for later? They were walking away, smiling greedily, not thinking about the heartbreak that was to follow when a life's dream would be lost. Dear American, you are in a recession. However, this is like when you prune a tree and cut back the branches. When the tree grows back, you've got control and the branches will grow bigger and stronger than they were before, without the greed factor. Then, if you don't like the way it grows back, you'll prune it again! I tell you this because awareness is now in control of big money. It's right before your eyes, what you're doing. But fear often rules. …”

Dutch man jailed for child sex abuse in Bangladesh

A court in the Netherlands has sentenced a 58-year-old Dutch man to 18 months in jail, six of them suspended, for abusing at least nine boys in Bangladesh.

The man was found guilty of abusing homeless children in shelters, one of which he had set up himself. The abuse took place between 2001 and 2005.

The sentence is heavier than the one demanded by the Public Prosecutor, who had called for a 240-hour community service order and a one-year suspended jail term. The judge ruled that the crime was too serious for a non-custodial sentence.

Harassment

The Public Prosecutor's lower demand took into account that the man had faced repeated harassment. As a result, he was forced to move twice to different towns. In Amsterdam, his last address, people spread pamphlets ‘naming and shaming’ him. Another sentencing factor was the length of the trial, which was delayed because of the lack of co-operation from the authorities in Bangladesh. The prosecution was not granted permission to hear witnesses until April of this year.

Suspicions of abuse

The court was not able to prove that the man had had intercourse with two boys or had raped another who was handicapped. The three boys had given evidence against him to an inquiry launched by Dacca Home, a Christian charity involved in raising money for the Bangladeshi shelters. The victims, however, did not repeat their accusations to the police.

The man returned to the Netherlands in 2005 and turned himself in following contact with the charity. He admitted to having abused the boys but denied he had had intercourse with them or had raped them. At the time, the man was setting up a children’s shelter in Nepal.

Sentences abroad

In the Netherlands, sex between adults and a children under 16 is illegal. If penetration has occurred, the maximum prison term is 12 years; otherwise, it is 6 years.

The Dutch sentences are on the low side compared to many countries. There is an overview below, based on figures from Interpol, of the penalties imposed by a number of countries for child sex abuse - the most severe top the list.

The age limits applied by various countries to decide whether sexual abuse has taken place range from 12 to 18 years. Some countries, for example, sanction marriage to underage partners.

United Arab Emirates: maximum sentence for sexual abuse is death.
China: the maximum sentence for abusing one child is life and, for abusing more than one child, is the death sentence. Up to five years in jail, with forced labour, is imposed for less serious forms of abuse.
Kyrgyzstan: the maximum sentence is death, or a prison term of 17 to 20 years.
Jordan: the minimum sentence is five years in jail, with forced labour.
Bahrain: life or the death sentence.
Qatar: life.
India and Botswana: a minimum of ten years in jail and a maximum of the death sentence.
Rwanda: long prison sentences - if the victim was a subordinate of the perpetrator, the maximum sentence is life.
Belgium: up to 30 years in jail if the victim was under 10 and up to 20 years if the victim was between 11 and 15.
United States: sentences vary per state. Many apply 'Jessica's Law': 25 years in jail for a first offence and life for repeat offences. In 2008, the Supreme Court rejected calls to introduce the death penalty for child abuse, arguing the punishment was disproportionate.
Australia: up to 25 years in jail.
Singapore: up to 20 years, with a minimum 12 strokes of the cane.
Thailand: between 7 and 20 years in jail.
Israel, Honduras, Bolivia, Bulgaria, Argentina: up to 20 years.
Russia, Mexico, Cambodia: up to 14 years.
Indonesia, the Netherlands: up to 12 years.
Myanmar: up to 10 years or deportation for life.
France, Germany, Austria, Portugal, Chile, Canada, Cameroon: up to 10 years.
Japan: between six months, with forced labour, and 7 years.
Laos: up to 5 years.
Yemen has no legislation covering child abuse.
