“… The Shift in Human Nature

You're starting to see integrity change. Awareness recalibrates integrity, and the Human Being who would sit there and take advantage of another Human Being in an old energy would never do it in a new energy. The reason? It will become intuitive, so this is a shift in Human Nature as well, for in the past you have assumed that people take advantage of people first and integrity comes later. That's just ordinary Human nature.

In the past, Human nature expressed within governments worked like this: If you were stronger than the other one, you simply conquered them. If you were strong, it was an invitation to conquer. If you were weak, it was an invitation to be conquered. No one even thought about it. It was the way of things. The bigger you could have your armies, the better they would do when you sent them out to conquer. That's not how you think today. Did you notice?

Any country that thinks this way today will not survive, for humanity has discovered that the world goes far better by putting things together instead of tearing them apart. The new energy puts the weak and strong together in ways that make sense and that have integrity. Take a look at what happened to some of the businesses in this great land (USA). Up to 30 years ago, when you started realizing some of them didn't have integrity, you eliminated them. What happened to the tobacco companies when you realized they were knowingly addicting your children? Today, they still sell their products to less-aware countries, but that will also change.

What did you do a few years ago when you realized that your bankers were actually selling you homes that they knew you couldn't pay for later? They were walking away, smiling greedily, not thinking about the heartbreak that was to follow when a life's dream would be lost. Dear American, you are in a recession. However, this is like when you prune a tree and cut back the branches. When the tree grows back, you've got control and the branches will grow bigger and stronger than they were before, without the greed factor. Then, if you don't like the way it grows back, you'll prune it again! I tell you this because awareness is now in control of big money. It's right before your eyes, what you're doing. But fear often rules. …”

Sex scandal costs deputy defence minister his job

Deputy Defence Minister Jack de Vries has stepped down. Caretaker Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende accepted his letter of resignation on Friday afternoon.

In addition to resigning his post, Mr De Vries says he will not play an active role in politics in the near future. He will not take his seat in parliament after the 9 June national elections. Mr de Vries is number 15 on the Christian Democrat party’s list of candidates.

Jack de Vries was caught up in a sex scandal - a rare phenomenon in Dutch politics. Earlier this week, Mr de Vries admitted to having an affair with a junior member of his staff, which led to his wife throwing him out of their house. He has been sleeping in a military barracks since.

In the days since the scandal became public there were increasing calls for the deputy minister's resignation. The military unions said the minister’s escapades undermined his credibility. Some even saw him as a security risk. And given that he’s a member of a Christian party which pushes family values, there were also cries of hypocrisy.

Christian spin doctor

A former spin doctor for the Christian Democrat CDA party, Jack de Vries took his side of the story to the press as soon as the news of his affair came out. “I want to spend time to find a good solution for our private situation,” he said in a statement.

But there was a damning response to the deputy minister’s antics. Wim van den Burg, president of the military personnel union AFMP/FNV, told Radio Netherlands Worldwide:

“A member of the government who goes on about norms and values and then as a married family man starts carrying on with a much younger adjutant can’t be taken seriously. Certainly a deputy minister who constantly preaches about family values – if he then starts an extramarital relationship with a subordinate, you’ve really got a problem.”

The affair wasn’t just a private matter, says leader of Defence Personnel Union VBM/NOV Jean Debie in Dutch populist daily De Telegraaf. “The defence ministry’s code of behaviour states that relationships at work have to be declared. Mr De Vries hasn’t kept to this so he can no longer demand it of his staff,” he says.

To make matters worse, the scandal came to light just as the Dutch army was launching a ‘moral campaign’ in response to reports of extravagant sexual behaviour among defence personnel and in the navy.

Blackmail

Some claimed the secret affair made the deputy minister vulnerable to blackmail by foreign powers. On Wednesday, Former Labour minister Bram Peper called for Mr De Vries to resign. “De Vries made trips abroad with a romantic partner while he was in possession of state secrets. That’s a security risk to the Dutch state.”

The affair, notwithstanding Mr de Vries' resignation, looks set to harm the moral-crusading Christian Democrat party in the run up to the 9 June general election.

The news of Mr De Vries’ extramarital affair with his aide Melissa Goede was broken by the commercial TV gossip magazine programme RTL Boulevard. The popular press immediately lept on the story, while the ‘serious’ newspapers held back a day before giving in and following suit. The Dutch media used to be cautious about reporting politicians’ sexual escapades, but the days of polite restraint in the Dutch press now appear to be over.
