“… The Shift in Human Nature

You're starting to see integrity change. Awareness recalibrates integrity, and the Human Being who would sit there and take advantage of another Human Being in an old energy would never do it in a new energy. The reason? It will become intuitive, so this is a shift in Human Nature as well, for in the past you have assumed that people take advantage of people first and integrity comes later. That's just ordinary Human nature.

In the past, Human nature expressed within governments worked like this: If you were stronger than the other one, you simply conquered them. If you were strong, it was an invitation to conquer. If you were weak, it was an invitation to be conquered. No one even thought about it. It was the way of things. The bigger you could have your armies, the better they would do when you sent them out to conquer. That's not how you think today. Did you notice?

Any country that thinks this way today will not survive, for humanity has discovered that the world goes far better by putting things together instead of tearing them apart. The new energy puts the weak and strong together in ways that make sense and that have integrity. Take a look at what happened to some of the businesses in this great land (USA). Up to 30 years ago, when you started realizing some of them didn't have integrity, you eliminated them. What happened to the tobacco companies when you realized they were knowingly addicting your children? Today, they still sell their products to less-aware countries, but that will also change.

What did you do a few years ago when you realized that your bankers were actually selling you homes that they knew you couldn't pay for later? They were walking away, smiling greedily, not thinking about the heartbreak that was to follow when a life's dream would be lost. Dear American, you are in a recession. However, this is like when you prune a tree and cut back the branches. When the tree grows back, you've got control and the branches will grow bigger and stronger than they were before, without the greed factor. Then, if you don't like the way it grows back, you'll prune it again! I tell you this because awareness is now in control of big money. It's right before your eyes, what you're doing. But fear often rules. …”

Dutch roots shape Nick Clegg's views

He is a rising star in British politics: Nick Clegg, leader of the Liberal Democrats in England. And all of a sudden he is really in with a chance in Thursday's general election. But what's more, he is half Dutch. Correspondent Lia van Bekhoven interviews Nick Clegg in his orange campaign bus.

How Dutch is someone who is technically half-Dutch? "Technically?" Nick Clegg corrects me, "I am biologically half-Dutch, genetically. My mother is Dutch." We are sitting in the back of the Liberal Democrats campaign bus. Since the beginning of the election campaign, the bright orange battle bus has been a second home to the party leader. And of the television crews and photographers whose job it is to follow Mr Clegg.

In the beginning there were only a few journalists, but since the LibDem leader's breakthrough during a televised debate and the polls rocketing, the bus has been full.

Labour country

The bus is travelling through Yorkshire, North England. This is Labour country. This is where, people say, Labour votes aren't counted but weighed.

But after 13 years in power, a corruption scandal and an unpopular prime minister, Labour is vulnerable. Nick Clegg, in a blue suit and purple tie, looks frighteningly young in real life. His Dutch is perfect, which is remarkable as he has never lived in the Netherlands.

Class system

He says he inherited his great aversion to the British class system from his mother. “But you came from a very privileged environment yourself. You went to private schools, then studied at Cambridge, your family owned various houses in several countries, your father was a successful banker,” I throw in. “That’s right,” he says, “but our parents always taught us that we were very privileged and everyone should be given the same chances.”

Political star

The bus stops at a supermarket. We have already driven 200 kilometres and we’re halfway through the programme. Mr Clegg is going to give his third speech today and his second question and answer session. There are posters reading 'I agree with Nick'. Local party supporters welcome him with orange banners. They cheer when he exits the bus.

Nick Clegg isn’t a Barack Obama, but if the British have a political star, it is him. He is the rebel of the establishment whose mission is to wipe the British class system and the dominance of ‘the two old parties’ off the map. In my eyes a very Dutch aim.
