“… The Shift in Human Nature

You're starting to see integrity change. Awareness recalibrates integrity, and the Human Being who would sit there and take advantage of another Human Being in an old energy would never do it in a new energy. The reason? It will become intuitive, so this is a shift in Human Nature as well, for in the past you have assumed that people take advantage of people first and integrity comes later. That's just ordinary Human nature.

In the past, Human nature expressed within governments worked like this: If you were stronger than the other one, you simply conquered them. If you were strong, it was an invitation to conquer. If you were weak, it was an invitation to be conquered. No one even thought about it. It was the way of things. The bigger you could have your armies, the better they would do when you sent them out to conquer. That's not how you think today. Did you notice?

Any country that thinks this way today will not survive, for humanity has discovered that the world goes far better by putting things together instead of tearing them apart. The new energy puts the weak and strong together in ways that make sense and that have integrity. Take a look at what happened to some of the businesses in this great land (USA). Up to 30 years ago, when you started realizing some of them didn't have integrity, you eliminated them. What happened to the tobacco companies when you realized they were knowingly addicting your children? Today, they still sell their products to less-aware countries, but that will also change.

What did you do a few years ago when you realized that your bankers were actually selling you homes that they knew you couldn't pay for later? They were walking away, smiling greedily, not thinking about the heartbreak that was to follow when a life's dream would be lost. Dear American, you are in a recession. However, this is like when you prune a tree and cut back the branches. When the tree grows back, you've got control and the branches will grow bigger and stronger than they were before, without the greed factor. Then, if you don't like the way it grows back, you'll prune it again! I tell you this because awareness is now in control of big money. It's right before your eyes, what you're doing. But fear often rules. …”

President Urges Athletes to Bring Pride to Indonesia During SEA Games

Based on the country’s performance in recent Southeast Asian Games, Indonesia’s overall sports development program seems to have lagged behind those of its regional rivals.

National sports officials promise, however, promise that will change beginning with the Laos SEA Games, which take place Dec. 9-18.

The State Ministry for Youth Affairs and Sports on Friday said the athletes it was sending to Vientiane were poised to lead the country to its best finish in four years.

“We’re getting better. The athletes have been busy preparing and now they’re ready to compete,” Minister Andi Alfian Mallarangeng said during the contingent’s send-off at Merdeka Palace.

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, who presided over Friday’s ceremony, told the national team to give its best in Laos and finish in the top three.

Indonesia finished fifth overall during the 2005 SEA Games in Manila in 2005, and fourth in Thailand in 2007.

The last time Indonesia topped the SEA Games medal table was in 1997, the last time it hosted the event.

“You’ve undergone all the proper training and everything else that’s needed so you can give pride to our country,” the president said. “Now, all you have to do is believe in yourself and in your skills.”

The national athletes exuded confidence during Friday’s send-off. Wushu athlete Lindswell, who won a gold medal at the World Championship in Canada, in October, said she felt good about her chances in Vientiane.

“I didn’t win anything during the 2007 SEA Games, but I’m physically and mentally ready now to get a gold in Laos,” the 18-year-old said.

Umar Syarief, who could be appearing in his last SEA Games, said he hoped to retire from the tournament with a gold medal.

The veteran karateka will compete in the over-80 kilogram division.

“I’m 32 years old now, so Laos will be my last SEA Games,” Umar said. “And I want to end my career with a championship.”

Meanwhile, local fans might be forced to find other ways to get updates on the SEA Games, after negotiations to have the tournament shown on local television hit a snag. Laos Games organizers are charging Rp 2.82 billion ($300,000) for the broadcast rights, but Andi said the government was talking to one TV station that might be willing to air the Games.

“This is the first time a SEA Games organizer is asking for such a fee. It’s just too expensive,” Andi said. “But I hope we can reach a deal soon. They shouldn’t be charging us anything in the first place, because the SEA Games is for the interest of everyone in our region.”

Indonesia is sending 345 athletes to Laos, where 379 gold medals are at stake. The national contingent will compete in 22 of 25 sports events.

The government has set aside Rp 20 billion ($2.1 million) in bonuses for medal winners, with the gold medalists to receive Rp 200 million. “I hope [the bonuses] will help to bring out their best during the SEA Games,” Andi said.

Rita Subowo, chairwoman of the Indonesian Olympic Committee, said the contingent would start flying to Laos on Monday.

Only the football team, which begins play on Saturday, arrived early in Vientiane.
