… The Shift in Human Nature

You're starting to see integrity change. Awareness recalibrates integrity, and the Human Being who would sit there and take advantage of another Human Being in an old energy would never do it in a new energy. The reason? It will become intuitive, so this is a shift in Human Nature as well, for in the past you have assumed that people take advantage of people first and integrity comes later. That's just ordinary Human nature.

In the past, Human nature expressed within governments worked like this: If you were stronger than the other one, you simply conquered them. If you were strong, it was an invitation to conquer. If you were weak, it was an invitation to be conquered. No one even thought about it. It was the way of things. The bigger you could have your armies, the better they would do when you sent them out to conquer. That's not how you think today. Did you notice?

Any country that thinks this way today will not survive, for humanity has discovered that the world goes far better by putting things together instead of tearing them apart. The new energy puts the weak and strong together in ways that make sense and that have integrity. Take a look at what happened to some of the businesses in this great land (USA). Up to 30 years ago, when you started realizing some of them didn't have integrity, you eliminated them. What happened to the tobacco companies when you realized they were knowingly addicting your children? Today, they still sell their products to less-aware countries, but that will also change.

What did you do a few years ago when you realized that your bankers were actually selling you homes that they knew you couldn't pay for later? They were walking away, smiling greedily, not thinking about the heartbreak that was to follow when a life's dream would be lost. Dear American, you are in a recession. However, this is like when you prune a tree and cut back the branches. When the tree grows back, you've got control and the branches will grow bigger and stronger than they were before, without the greed factor. Then, if you don't like the way it grows back, you'll prune it again! I tell you this because awareness is now in control of big money. It's right before your eyes, what you're doing. But fear often rules. …

Rotterdam wants much more than the Tour

Radio Netherlands Worldwide, 3 July 2010, By Peter Leemeijer

The start of the Tour de France is being held in the Netherlands for the fifth time in history. On Saturday 3 July, Rotterdam will be the backdrop for the prologue of the world’s greatest cycling race. On Sunday, the first leg of the race will leave Rotterdam travelling via the Province of Zeeland to Brussels.

The first time the Tour de France started in the Netherlands was in Amsterdam in 1954. Later the firing gun sounded in the seaside resort Scheveningen and the central city of Leiden, and in 1996 the race began in Den Bosch. This time Rotterdam hosts the event. The city’s sports alderman Antoinette Laan is proud: “...especially because of the international attention. The port city already has quite a reputation for holding large events and we want to build on that with the cycling race.”

Good PR

Rotterdam also appears to be raising its profile for large sports events in the future, such as the 2018 World Cup and the 2028 Olympics. The port on the River Maas hopes a successful Tour will be good PR. Ms Laan: “Rotterdam would like to be one of the host cities for the World Cup matches, and of course it would be great if we could hold the final.”

On 2 December, FIFA will decide which country will host the 2018 World Cup. Rotterdam’s Olympic ambitions is all about the prestige of the event, but it might also have favourable spin-offs. “In the run up to it, people might become more motivated to become more physically active, which will be good for the health of Rotterdammers,” Ms Laan hopes.

Rotterdam has spent 12 million euros on organising the start of the Tour. The town hopes to earn its investment back amply by selling advertising and broadcasting rights for radio and television. The event is expected to attract around a million visitors, who all need to eat, drink and sleep. All the hotels in the vicinity are fully booked.

Criticism

Rotterdam’s business community has had its doubts. Spokesperson Guus van der Werff does not believe those visitors will end up in Rotterdam’s high streets and spend just as much money as in an average weekend visitor, around 130 euros per person. Ms Laan sighs: “We have had researchers from the Erasmus University look into how much profit will be made and the predictions are favourable.”

Another point of criticism is the power of Tour organiser ASO. Only official sponsors are allowed to advertise and other organisations are subject to a ban on distributing leaflets. Ms Laan: “The rules are indeed strict, but we have signed contracts so we cannot break them. Although there may be room for leniency, which means we may look the other way if a small entrepreneur uses the Tour to promote his business.”

Unforeseen circumstances

All in all, Antoinette Laan is optimistic that the Tour will start smoothly. “The Tour organisation has set out its own course and the members are impressed by the facilities that have been provided. As far as that is concerned I do not expect any problems, although there may of course always be unforeseen circumstances.” Rotterdam is also in the race to host the Women’s European Football Championship in 2013. In September, it will become clear whether the city has ‘won’ this sporting event.
